Who We Are

Dear Readers,

My wife and I are recently early retirees that come from hard-working, middle-income families.  After 15 years of saving, investing, and managing our own money, we were able to achieve financial independence at the age of 38 years old in NYC, the most expensive city in the world.  To achieve this, we followed a very simple formula: earn as much as you can while you’re young, live modestly and make financially-informed decisions.  We made several mistakes along the way and feel grateful that we are still able to achieve our goal of not only not having to work until we are 65, but also not needing to significantly live frugally to achieve our goals.

How We Want to Help

We started stretchmypenny.com to share our perspective on personal finance, investing and smart money management from our experience and research.  As early retirees, this blog also serves as a creative outlet to keep us intellectually stimulated and help others at the same time!

We recognize that everyone’s financial journey is different and our intent is not to share financial advice but to provide insights so that you can grow your wealth wisely and safely.  Our hope is that our posts will inspire you to think critically about your wealth decisions and be a helpful resource to share with your friends and family.
